DL2 Lab Member Dr. Siti Aminah Served as Judges in West Java’s AWS AI for Education Hackathon Final

The AWS-sponsored event was one of the largest held in West Java in 2025

Bandung, West Java — Dr. Siti Aminah, a member of Digital Library and Distance Learning (DL2) Laboratory joined the judging panel of one of the biggest AI hackathon held in Indonesia this year: The AI for Education Hackathon. This program, which was a part of a capacity building program in West Java, was aimed at equipping both students and educators with essential AI-related knowledge and skills through a series of workshops and competitions.

The hackathon was the highlight of the program. Citing its official organizer's news release, 

"Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI), in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), launched the STEM Capacity Building program in West Java, which includes AI Hackathon as its main highlight. From January to August 2025, the program reached more than 5,100 students and 40 teachers from 40 high schools across the province."

At this hackathon, students worked in a team of fours to develop and present AI-based innovative ideas that could serve as solutions to issues in their schools or address various educational challenges across Indonesia.
